EcoPlum and Tulong LLC announced today their partnership bringing Tulong's Repair The World?, Reparel?, and Sloungewear? brands of sustainable, comfortable apparel to EcoPlum's e-commerce platform and green shopping rewards site. The eco friendly and socially responsible clothing line is sourced from pre-consumer textile scraps and post-consumer plastic bottles in an innovative approach to textile design.
Gia Machlin, Founder and CEO of EcoPlum said, "We are so excited to be working with Mark Heiman and Alan Brown and their team at Tulong to launch Repair The World? apparel in our EcoShop. We admire their socially responsible mission to create clothing from materials that would otherwise end up as landfill and then to give back part of their profits to people and communities in need. This is a double win for us because our shoppers get to buy this very comfy, appealing, environmentally friendly clothing line and they get to earn EcoChipz for future purchases, or donations to environmental causes."
Mark Heiman, President and one of the founders of Tulong LLC, the apparel company behind the Repair the World? brand said "We are very pleased and honored to partner with Gia and Ecoplum. Ecoplum is a tremendous resource for green and sustainable lifestyles and living, and Gia is an informed advocate for environmental and social issues. We share a common thread in our triple bottom line approach to business".
Tulong LLC manufactures people-friendly and earth-friendly clothing that gives back to the world. The clothing lines launched on the EcoShop go by the name Reparel? and Sloungewear? and consist of T-shirts, hoodies, yoga pants, and Sloungewear? for Men, Women, and Kids. Reparel? = recycle + apparel clothing is made with recycled cotton from pre-consumer colored fabric scraps and recycled polyester from post consumer plastic bottles. By using recycled color cottons, no new color dyes are used. The Sloungewear? line uses the same unique textile process to provide ultra comfortable apparel for a relaxed, or active, lifestyle. The company requires certification of raw material sources, minimizes its impact on the environment, and promotes fair labor practices.
"Mark is a patent-holder and recognized leader in sustainable textile design and apparel, with over 30 years' experience", added Gia Machlin.
EcoPlum, a green shopping rewards site and eco-information destination for green lifestyles, selects products for its EcoShop with recognized eco-labels or clear recycled content. Chic sustainable clothing and accessories have been available on EcoPlum for some time, but Repair the World? is the first clothing line on the site made from recycled materials.
